Singaporean harpist Li Shan Tan is known for her dynamic artistry across orchestral stages, solo engagements, and contemporary collaborations. She is principal harpist of the New Haven Symphony Orchestra and also performs regularly with the Boston Symphony Orchestra and Boston Pops. Career highlights include appearing as a soloist alongside Yo-Yo Ma with the Boston Symphony Orchestra at the 2024 Tanglewood Music Festival and winning first prize at the VI Mexico International Harp Competition. She has also performed with the Metropolitan Opera, Baltimore Symphony Orchestra, and the Beach Boys.

In 2026, Li Shan joined the music faculty at Âé¶¹¹ÙÍø, where she teaches harp and coaches chamber music. As an educator, arranger, and writer, she writes for Harp Column and creates digital content that has garnered millions of views worldwide. She was the first harpist admitted to New England Conservatory’s doctoral program, where she earned her dooctorate of musical arts with a minor in music theory under Jessica Zhou. When away from the harp, Li Shan can be found sipping coffee, reading, or boxing.
